Well, our FDP certificates are getting all old and ratty, and we need new ones.
I was hoping to have designed something myself in time for the last party, but it didn't happen.
Anyway, here's the deal: I want a certificate that is exactly the same size as a U.S. dollar bill, with printing on both sides. It must have a 3 millimeter margin of unprinted paper around the edges of both sides. The printing must be highly detailed. There must be space on the front for two signatures (mine and Romana's) but the signatures must be done individually on each bill by hand (meaning they're not part of the printed design). Each bill must have a serial number, so there should be room for that (at least five digits). We need denominations of 1, 10, and 100.
If you'd like to take part in this contest, submit your photo-ready (which just means very, very clean) originals for all six designs (front/rear of 1/10/100) to me as soon as you can. I'll decide on a design as soon as I see one that I really like -- there's no deadline on real creativity. Who knows -- if we get two good designs maybe we'll print up both of them!
Oh yes, the reward. First, of course, you get the thrill of knowing that you designed our currency! But of course you get your own personally signed copies of each bill, fresh off the first press run, suitable for framing (or spending...) And of course you'll need two copies of each because there are two sides....
A few more minor details. Your originals should preferably be twice life size, so we can get really high-quality prints from them. They should be one color (preferably black on white) and you must try to avoid large areas of solid color. If you have dark regions, make them stippled or hatched like on a real dollar bill. You're welcome to sign the art if it's >very< small. And I'll show a strong and completely unfair prejudice towards designs containing any of the following features:
